Health is not guaranteed, yet we act like it is.
Health doesn’t care about your socioeconomic status, job title, age, or impact on the world.
And every year, we always say, “just be happy and healthy.” Inferring health is something you should have or get just because. And while it’s everyone’s birthright to have health, we know in today’s world it’s not that simple.
If you ask me, this saying has become so trivial that it has lost meaning.
If health is the most important thing, then why is it not top of mind? And how can we be healthy in a sick society on a sick planet? Spoiler, I’m going to help you start!
This article is dedicated to easy and free health tips that will transform your life, if you choose to act on them. Because after all, you’re the best project you’ll ever work on…
This quote has been on my mind since I heard it on a podcast last week. Health is the great equalizer. When our health falters, everything else in life suddenly feels uphill -no matter who we are or where we come from.
I want you to give a damn about your health and act like it’s your life mission to be healthy, to reject normalcy, and strive for excellence. To be part of the norm these days means having a chronic disease.
In 2023, about 3 in 4 U.S. adults (76 %), roughly 194 million people, reported at least one chronic health condition, and more than half (51 %) live with two or more.
1 in 4 Americans (26 %) now take four or more prescription medications daily.
1 in 3 US adults juggle multiple meds every day.
Analysts estimate U.S. providers write over six billion prescriptions each year, averaging to 4 scripts per person.
Lifestyle Change #1 - Cook at home.
Cooking at home is not a novel idea, in fact it’s one of the oldest tricks in the book if you are looking to improve your nutrition between the added sodium, seed oils, sugar, and alcohol intake.
Studies indicate that women who cook at home, particularly those from lower-income backgrounds, tend to have healthier diets compared to those who eat out more frequently, including wealthier women. Home cooking allows for more control over ingredients, leading to lower intake of processed foods, unhealthy fats, and sodium.
I wish there was a resurgence of cooking at home and the magic of setting the table. Cooking a beautiful meal with your favorite music on, candles lit, and aromas flooding the kitchen is a magical experience. It’s all about romanticizing your life every day.
